Crème caramel is made from simple ingredients: Eggs, Milk, Cream, Sugar, and Vanilla. The magic happens when sugar is caramelized and poured into the bottom of a mold, then topped with the custard mixture. It’s baked in a water bath (bain-marie) to ensure a gentle, even cook. Once chilled and inverted, the caramel becomes a glossy sauce that coats the custard.
